Job Description
 
Oaktree & Tiger manages the annual Ashurst Emerging Artist Prize (www.artprize.co.uk), an international competition now in its 7th year. It is sponsored by a top international law firm, Ashurst LLP, has a renowned panel of judges, and has had over 18,000 entries to date by artists based all over the world. We run a programme of events, live in London and also online, and curate group and solo exhibitions for artists in all mediums, including photography, sculpture and digital media. We also run the Ashurst Art Collection (www.ashurstart.com), a growing collection of artworks based in Ashurst’s London offices, with a platform that promotes emerging artists.
 
We are looking for an individual to manage the marketing and operations for the Ashurst Emerging Artist Prize, reporting to the Prize Director. This person will have some experience of creating and executing a multichannel marketing strategy, be great at creating content, are well-organised and able to work with tight deadlines. The role offers exposure in curating, artist management and partnership management, as well as training. For the right candidates, there is further training and mentoring towards a leadership role. 
 
You will create the multichannel marketing strategy, and then take responsibility for creating content and handling engagement, and executing the plan to achieve specified targets. You will also manage artists at each stage of the competition, write content, reconcile artwork entries, handle entry enquiries, manage exhibitions, liaise with partners and compile entries and information for the judging panel. Throughout all of this, our aim is to benefit as many emerging artists as possible, promote the shortlisted artists and grow engagement with the wider public.
 
The role begins as soon as possible, part-time (ideally 2-3 days a week), pay level depends on experience, and includes training. We are based in Kensington, but often work from Mayfair, Soho and Shoreditch areas, though much of the role can be remote.

What We Are Looking For

ESSENTIAL
Arts, marketing or business education/experience Fluency in English, excellent writing skills and great telephone manners
Being organised and having the ability to get things done
Experience of creating marketing campaigns, particularly on social media platforms
Passion for visual arts and working with artists
Must be based in London or able to travel there when required

DESIRED
Experience working in galleries, exhibitions, museums, art fairs or as an artist’s assistant
PR experience
Must be punctual, self-motivated, hard-working, and sociable.
