Job Description
We have an immediate need for assistance with the marketing and operations of the Ashurst Emerging Artist Prize and the Ashurst Art Collection.
The role will support the delivery of a marketing strategy that promotes the prize and its vision, its activities to support emerging artists’ career development and promotion of the shortlisted and winning artists. This includes social media content creation and scheduling, newsletter and website content and design, press campaign delivery, event planning and execution support, online and offline outreach.
You will also support the Director in operational tasks that include entry reconciliation and compilation, artist liaison, curatorial assistance, exhibition logistics, handling enquiries and, event planning and execution support.
For the art collection, we require assistance with the marketing strategy, curation and operation of the project.
The role is a London Living Wage paid internship with training tailored to the successful candidate, and begins from November 2019. Ideally we require around 2 days a week, but this can be flexible around your schedule. We are based in Kensington, but often work from Soho and Shoreditch areas.

Last year we had over 4,450 artworks entered by over 1,900 artists, and will launch for its 6th year in November 2019.
The Ashurst Art Collection was launched in 2019, and is an annually rotating collection of artworks by upcoming emerging artists, that promotes the artists and creates a provenance and a platform that grows to support them throughout their careers.

What We Are Looking For
An arts, marketing or business background, or has good knowledge or experience of the Contemporary Art world.
Fluency in English and excellent writing and communication skills are essential.
An understanding of Office, Photoshop, InDesign is preferred but not essential.
PR experience is a bonus.
Confidence in dealing with artists.
Being organised and having the ability to get things done is vital, as is great time management and ability to work with sometimes tight deadlines.
Creative in content creation.
Must be punctual, self-motivated, and hard working.

We are organising a significant solo exhibition for an emerging Anglo-Brazilian artist, to be held in Central London/West End, from 1st October to 30th November 2018, and require various talents to execute the project. The role is suited to individuals that are passionate about contemporary art, sociable, self-motivated and hardworking, and wants exposure to and training in art business, exhibition management and marketing.
We are looking for confident and enthusiastic candidates that are willing to learn, to assist in organising, curating, promoting and managing the exhibition. You will work part-time with the Managing Director from early August until November or later, assisting, collaborating or taking responsibility for tasks while receiving training. For the right candidates, the roles can be tailored to your skills and interests, and can cover one or more of the following areas: curation, exhibition management, marketing, eCommerce and business development.
The roles can begin from 6th August or later, and lasts approximately 3 months. Ideally we require around 2 days a week, but this can be flexible around your schedule.
